about

A couple of summers ago, Brian was listening to a lot of The Police and Perlonesque techhouse when he developed this demo. At the time, it was more a straightforward, 4/4 affair, surrounded by several staccato guitar tracks. Bob added atmospheric elements and a few basslines to this one and it’s quite gorgeous. In some ways it’s very us; our take on techno. And in other ways, it sounds like Andy Summers, Ricardo Villalobos, and Matias Aguayo got together for a lost weekend. Minimal, understated kits combine with guttural vocal snippets and throbbing basslines. A creeped-out falsetto-voiced melody melds into a driving guitar phrase that all glides off into nowhere, then seeps slowly back into your consciousness.
